Nutrition (among a few other factors) can have a huge impact on your race performance. Like a bike fit, you can control your nutrition. Waiting until race day to decide what you need to eat is not an effective strategy.
“Race day nutrition should be tested during training,” says team nutritionist Craig David.
What types of food you eat (liquid or solids), which brands you prefer, the quantities – all of these things should be experimented with during your training phase.
That way, when you get to race day, you will better understand how to manage your food to achieve your optimal performance.
