An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Yes, that is a cliché, but in this sport, your body’s happiness is important. Managing your training with intention and purpose will help you prevent costly injury as you add intensity or volume to your training.

We realize that just getting your schedule into a swim-bike-run groove is challenging enough, and adding a strength routine might sound like a luxury, but trust us, it’s worth it! You NEED to include a strength program to stave off injury and it’s part of the equation to getting faster.

If adding a separate strength workout into your schedule doesn’t quite fit, consider adding 10-15 minutes of strength work to each of your swim, bike and run sets.
