Triathlon is about so much more than putting together a swim and a bike and a run. It’s about the bigger picture – about goals and believing in yourself, and finding out how far you can go! Pair a “can-do” attitude with the right coach and watch what happens!
Motivation comes in many forms, both internal and external. First and foremost, it’s based on a strong belief in yourself and in your goals. The next building block is a training plan tailored just for you, one that’s not only achievable, but that you truly understand and can embrace. When you see your season laid out in a way that makes sense, and you can visualize how it works, it helps to build the faith. Finally, a big part of confidence is built over time, simply by doing the work, following your training plan and staying consistent. This is where I strive to offer the most value for my athletes – supporting them and monitoring progress in such a way that all they have to do is focus on the workouts.
Ultimately, the road to winning in triathlon isn’t about the numbers. It’s about exploring new horizons, redefining limits, and becoming the best you can be (the results will fall into place!). It isn’t meant to be easy, and isn’t always fun, but with consistency and that “can-do” attitude, I can guarantee you that it will be worthwhile!
