As a lifelong athlete, my approach to coaching is grounded in my own journey — one filled with challenges, growth, and invaluable perspective. I know what it’s like to chase goals, hit roadblocks, and come out stronger on the other side. That’s the mindset I bring to the athletes I work with: helping you break down personal barriers in triathlon by focusing on more than just swim, bike, and run.
During my collegiate triathlon career, I was fortunate to work with coaches who taught me that success isn’t always about the results, it's about learning to love the process. Establishing a personal "why" will ensure that, when things get tough, you continue to do the sport for the right reasons. Those lessons changed everything for me, and now I strive to pass them on. Because when we stop obsessing over the outcome, we start to find joy in the journey — and that’s where the real growth happens!
My coaching style is built on balance, mental fortitude and trust between coach and athlete. Training should fit into your life, it should never take it over. Whether you're juggling a career, family, or just trying to find space for yourself, I believe in building a training plan that supports a healthy, sustainable lifestyle. Learning when to hit the gas and when to pump the brakes is a skill, and it’s one that helps prevent burnout and keeps the sport fun and fulfilling. Additionally, I believe that mental fortitude is what separates good athletes from great ones, and that building a strong mental and physical foundation is key to long-term success. When we couple these things with a partnership that is built on trust, open communication and teamwork, the dreams and goals can quickly become reality!
Success in triathlon means something different for everyone. At the core, that success will come when we find a sustainable rhythm that works for you! Together, we will find what makes you tick as a person first, and then a triathlete — ensuring that it aligns with other life goals so you can excel in both. I'll encourage you to ask questions, be a student of the sport and be open minded. So, whether you're chasing your first start line or aiming to step up to an elite level, I'm here to guide you with experience, empathy and a passion for the sport that is rooted in the process, not just the podium. And as long as we make sure to have fun along the way, you will find that you are capable of some pretty amazing things!
